Psychological Testing
Psychological tests and evaluation can be used to answer a variety of questions about emotions, behavior, style of coping, personality, memory, and intellectual or academic strengths and challenges. They are also useful in clarifying a diagnosis, ruling out potential causes of concern, and providing treatment recommendations.
Sometimes psychological evaluation involves questionnaires, screeners and different types of tests. It also includes a diagnostic interview, which takes about 60 to 90 minutes.
Psychological assessment in partnership with you
Collaborative assessment is an approach I use which, as its name implies, involves working with clients individually to answer specific questions that they and/or the referring professional have. The questions become the basis of the exploration, and specific tests are chosen as a result.
After the testing is complete, an interactive feedback session is scheduled to share how the results can help answer questions and to shed more light about next steps. This session is collaborative in nature, and the goal is to help clients (and their family) begin or continue towards solutions to their concerns. Here are types of assessments that I conduct:
- Comprehensive psychological evaluations
- ADHD Testing
- Chronic Pain Evaluations
- Pre-surgical Evaluations
- Bariatric Psych Evaluations
