Wellness Coaching for Doctors
Physicians face many challenges with their work. To start, they are high achievers and good at what they do.
They care for patients, navigate disease outbreaks, manage their workplace, and try to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
But who takes care of physicians when they really need it? No one’s life is perfect all of the time. And, asking for help is hard to do, especially if you are worried about how it might affect your medical license.
Physician Wellness – a safe harbor
This is why the Travis County Medical Society (TCMS) created the Physician Wellness Program to give Central Texas physicians a trusted resource they can turn to in times of need and at no cost to them.
I am one of multiple coaches who have been vetted by the Society to provide confidential coaching sessions for TCMS members and their partner or spouse. Up to four coaching sessions are offered at no charge to help you get the help you need without the obligation to report to the medical board or credentialing entities. We can also continue our work together after those four sessions if you wish.
Types of issues that can be treated
Caring for other people can place a high burden on physicians and their families. When your own relationships, communication and health suffer, you may not know where to begin. But the good news is that well-qualified mental health care is available to you.
We can discuss issues such as:
- Family issues
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Burnout
- Relationships
- Work difficulties
- Stress and coping
- Mood swings
- Grief
- Adverse patient outcomes
- Substance use
